MA160DY-00ACSPC is a 60 GHz radar module that measures the tiny chest movement of one person at up to 1.5 m and reports presence, motion, breathing rate, and heart rate over UART, plus an overnight sleep record when the host asks for one. Kymopsis sells it as a development kit for evaluation and research, for example bedside devices, smart mattresses, and wellness products under development.
What you are buying
This is a development board, not a bare module. The development kit price covers the radar board plus the support around it: a configuration GUI, application firmware builds, a flashing guide, and light engineering changes for your setup.
Source code is not included. Kymopsis does not supply embedded firmware source code or GUI source code with any edition. If you need source code, custom firmware, or the bare module in volume, send the B2B form or email [email protected] for a custom quote. Module-only volume pricing is much lower, and the support level is agreed separately.
Not a medical device
Breathing, heart-rate, sleep, and fall-related outputs from this board are experimental signals for evaluation and research. The board is not a medical device, is not cleared or approved by any health authority, and must not be used to diagnose, monitor, or treat any condition, or as a safety or emergency alarm. Results vary with mounting, distance, posture, movement, and the scene.
Supplier datasheet figures
The figures below come from the supplier datasheet. They are not a Kymopsis lab report.
- Band: 60 GHz (datasheet: 58–62 GHz)
- Stated maximum transmit power: 8 dBm; stated antenna gain 4 dBi
- Target: one person; stated maximum range 1.5 m; the datasheet working cone is about 50° horizontal and 50° elevation
- Outputs: presence, large-motion flag, breathing rate, heart rate; sleep record mode (in bed / out of bed, sleep stages, sleep score) on host request
- Interface: UART, 3.3 V logic; pins 5 V, TX, RX, GND, NC
- Supply: 5 V (4.5–5.5 V); current 100 mA min, 150 mA typical, 200 mA max
- Size: 35 × 34.5 × 8 mm, 11 mm with the soldered header; four 2 mm mounting holes
- Operating temperature: −40 °C to 85 °C
Editions
- Development kit (USD 59): the board plus a configuration GUI, application firmware builds, a flashing guide, and light engineering changes for your setup.
- DIY board (USD 19): the bare board pre-flashed with the application firmware, with UART interface notes (output format and basic commands) provided after purchase. No GUI, no tools, and no engineering support.
Neither edition includes embedded firmware or GUI source code.
Mounting
Aim the antenna straight at the chest and keep it within 1.5 m, for example on a short bracket above the bed or at the bedside at mattress height. Range drops when the person is off the antenna axis. Results are experimental signals, not medical measurements.

Regulatory status
This module is not FCC certified and this page does not claim CE or any other certification. It is not an authorized transmitter for unrestricted installation or operation. It is sold as a development kit for engineers, developers, and integrators.
If your finished product needs its own equipment authorization, use the B2B program. Kymopsis can scope the integration and support the laboratory and TCB process. Kymopsis does not issue FCC grants.
Questions
Is this module FCC or CE certified?
No. It is sold as a development kit for engineers and integrators, not as an authorized end product.
Why does the kit cost more than the bare module?
The kit price includes the GUI, firmware, flashing guide, and light engineering help. Bare modules in volume are quoted separately through B2B, with lower pricing and a support level agreed per project.
Can I use it to monitor a patient?
No. The outputs are research signals. The board is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis, patient monitoring, or alarms.
