MA160BT-XA-CN00AAMD is a 60 GHz radar module with two transmit and two receive PCB patch antennas, built for ceiling mounting over a small area such as a bathroom or a single room. Kymopsis sells it as a development kit for product developers and integrators.
What you are buying
This is a development board, not a bare module. The development kit price covers the radar board plus the support around it: a configuration GUI, application firmware builds, a flashing guide, and light engineering changes for your setup.
Source code is not included. Kymopsis does not supply embedded firmware source code or GUI source code with any edition. If you need source code, custom firmware, or the bare module in volume, send the B2B form or email [email protected] for a custom quote. Module-only volume pricing is much lower, and the support level is agreed separately.
Where it is used
- Presence and person-state sensing in a defined area, one person
- Experimental fall-event reporting for development work (see the note below)
- Home automation and security projects that need to know whether a room is occupied
Not a medical device
Breathing, heart-rate, sleep, and fall-related outputs from this board are experimental signals for evaluation and research. The board is not a medical device, is not cleared or approved by any health authority, and must not be used to diagnose, monitor, or treat any condition, or as a safety or emergency alarm. Results vary with mounting, distance, posture, movement, and the scene.
Supplier datasheet figures
The figures below come from the supplier datasheet. They are not a Kymopsis lab report.
- Band: 60 GHz (the datasheet table states 58–62 GHz)
- Antenna: 2T2R PCB microstrip; stated gain 4 dBi; stated −3 dB beam ±60° horizontal and elevation
- Stated transmit power: 12 dBm typical
- Interfaces on the pads: UART, I2C, SPI, SWD
- Supply: 3.1–3.5 V, typical 3.3 V; maximum current 600 mA
- Size: 25 × 31.5 mm, pin header or SMD mounting
- Operating temperature: −20 °C to 85 °C; storage −40 °C to 85 °C
Detection range is not stated in the datasheet and depends on mounting height and the room.
Editions
- Development kit (USD 59): the board plus a configuration GUI, application firmware builds, a flashing guide, and light engineering changes for your setup.
- DIY board (USD 19): the bare board pre-flashed with the application firmware, with UART interface notes (output format and basic commands) provided after purchase. No GUI, no tools, and no engineering support.
Neither edition includes embedded firmware or GUI source code.

Regulatory status
This module is not FCC certified and this page does not claim CE or any other certification. It is not an authorized transmitter for unrestricted installation or operation. It is sold as a development kit for engineers, developers, and integrators.
If your finished product needs its own equipment authorization, use the B2B program. Kymopsis can scope the integration and support the laboratory and TCB process. Kymopsis does not issue FCC grants.
Questions
Is this module FCC or CE certified?
No. It is sold as a development kit for engineers and integrators, not as an authorized end product.
Why does the kit cost more than the bare module?
The kit price includes the GUI, firmware, flashing guide, and light engineering help. Bare modules in volume are quoted separately through B2B, with lower pricing and a support level agreed per project.
